Two courses are available. The first is a 15-hour
food service sanitation course; the second is a 5-hour refresher
course. Please note that the Illinois Department of Public Health
requires a minimum number of attendees in order for the course
to be delivered.

15-Hour Food Service Sanitation Course
- Cost: $89 (includes training manual)
- Course follows IDPH syllabus
- Includes up-to-date information on:
- Identifying Food Borne Illnesses
- Identifying Time/Temperature Relationships
- The Relationship of Personal Hygiene and Food Safety
- Methods of Preventing Food Contamination
- Identifying Correct Procedures for Cleaning and Sanitizing
- Recognizing Problems and Solutions Associated with Facility,
Equipment, and Layouts
- Codes Related to Foodservice Establishments
- Successful completion includes certificate issued by the IDPH
- IDPH will issue a 5-year certificate for a fee of $35 upon
the completion of the 15-hour course and passing the IDPH test.

5-Hour Refresher Course
For those who need their certification renewed, a 5-hour refresher
course is available:
- Cost: $49 (does
NOT include training manual--the manual may be purchased onsite
for $10)
- Participants must provide a copy of their current
State of Illinois Certificate.
- IDPH will issue a 5-year certificate for a fee of $35 upon
completion of the 5-hour refresher class.
Please note that Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Community
College Partnerships are also available.
